Gentamycin is an antibiotic that primarily targets gram-bacteria by binding to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome. Sterile-filtered, Broad spectrum, cell culture antibiotic that is non toxic to viruses and mammalian cells at antibacterial levels.
It is useful for long-term virus and tissue culture studies.
Store at 2-8℃
Mode of action |
Gentamicin causes codon misreading by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, blocking the translocation of peptidyl-tRNA from the acceptor site to the donor site. |
Antimicrobial spectrum |
Includes Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including strains resistant to tetracycline, chloramphenicol, kanamycin and colistin, particularly strains of Pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus |
